We are seeking a friendly and organized Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic established Pediatric office. In this role, you will work at the front desk of our medical office and assist our patients and other visitors. Your primary job duties will include greeting and checking in patients, answering questions, collecting patient co-pays, processing paperwork, and scheduling appointments. You will also help keep our records and work areas clean and organized and ensure our office provides a welcoming environment for our patients. The qualified applicant must demonstrate a positive attitude, considerable latitude for independent judgment, professional ethics, appearance, and conduct with the ability to multitask proficiently.

Medical Receptionist Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet patients and other visitors when they arrive
• Answer patient questions and assist when necessary
• Schedule and check in/out patients for all prescribed services accurately and with enthusiasm
• Responsible for collecting payments and maintaining an accurate financial record
• Distribute forms and paperwork to patients and check them over to ensure that required fields are completed properly
• Operate multi-line phone system - direct calls, take messages, and relay appropriately, and timely
• Update demographics/information consistently in EMR.
• Scan documents and inquire/confirm insurance coverage in EMR
• Complete confirmation calls and texts for next-day scheduled patients
• Manage inventory of necessary office supplies and coordinate reordering

Medical Receptionist Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of 21year of experience front desk experience required
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to multi-task, provide quality customer service, prioritize, and critical thinking in a fast-paced environment
• Must have experience with answering and forwarding initial phone calls
• Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, internal staff, and external parties in a courteous and friendly manner
• Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required
