Job Description

The Computer Operator III processes a range of scheduled routines. In addition to operating the system and resolving common error conditions, this worker diagnoses and acts on machine stoppage and error conditions not fully covered by existing procedures and guidelines (e.g., resetting switches and other controls or making mechanical adjustments to maintain or restore equipment operations). In response to computer output instructions or error conditions, the Computer Operator III may deviate from standard procedures if standard procedures do not provide a solution and refers problems which do not respond to corrective procedures to a person of supervisory or higher individual contributor level.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all operations of the GCSS-Army transaction process from equipment receipt to transfer to destination to include all responsibility for filing any transactions, reports, orders, and issues that occur daily.
  • Updates and maintains customer Delegation of Authority (DA Form 1687) accounts records.
  • Verifies and processes transfer documents to GCSS-A inbound and outbound transactions.
  • Generates periodic inventory and asset visibility reports as required.
  • Resolves minor property book entry discrepancies using GCSS-A adjustment processes.
  • Participates in providing technical assistance in using the various LIS programs to maintain a complete and accurate database. Maintains hard copy files of property transactions, activity registers, causative research, adjustment documents, and other records related to R2E operations.
  • Researches and generates equipment component lists, equipment technical manuals and equipment identification using various LIS, as well as assists with preparing production Control equipment packets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in Unit Supply/Property Book procedures to include GCSS-Army operations. Must have excellent written, verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess and continuously maintain a current State of Colorado Driver's License prior to starting or by 30 days after employment.
  • Must be US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) to obtain a CAC.
  • Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results.
  • Material & Equipment Directly Used:
  • Operates computers and utilizes software programs, spreadsheets and databases. Uses copiers, scanners and other office equipment.


Physical Demands & Working Environment

  • Work is generally conducted in an office or warehouse environment. Work may require light lifting up to 25 lbs.; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting.
  • Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required is certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices.
  • Must be in good physical condition.
  • Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules.
